In this piece I have chosen to showcase what is typically hidden, exposing the uneven end-grain of construction grade Douglas Fir as a polished furniture surface. But what appears to be simply a warm-hued bench can be flipped to become a stealth rocker, and is lined with faux-rabbit fur (on the permanently hidden interior) to complete the hidden/exposed reversal. It is also filled with broken glass to accompany the rocking-chair experience with muffled shards of sound.
